5 GOLDEN RULES FOR BEING A SCIENTIST

• If you think you can prove you are right, you can be proven wrong.

• For every single dogmatic proof of being right, there is an exponential inverse increase in being proven wrong.

• If you think you can prove you are absolutely right, you have established proof you are absolutely wrong.

• The only constants are those known at present. Refer to #1-3.

• The only universal Truths are human stupidity and Rules #1-4.

Comment: I recommend all scientists, mathematicians, medical professionals (excepting psychiatrists and most psychologists), and anyone else who works with data to print this and hang it where it can be seen by all. Psychiatrists are specifically EXCLUDED because I don't consider psychiatry to be a science and consider it to be nothing more than a pile of steaming shit. OTOH, a few profound gems exist in psychology, particularly work that includes mathematical quantitative and qualitative analysis of behaviors. Unfortunately, few psychologists are intelligent enough to think at that level.
